About Kong Original Impact Protection Hand gloves
In 2007, ORR Safety was asked to participate in a steering committee made up of a collaborative, cross functional group of safety and operations professionals from ExxonMobil, ConocoPhillips, Superior Energy and Chevron. The mission of this steering committee was to identify and address the most prevalent hand injuries consistently causing hairline fractures; bruising blows (back of the hand and fingers) and pinched fingers. The steering committee set a goal to reduce or eliminate these types of hand injuries in the oil and gas industry.
Several prototypes were tested until we achieved 80,000 hours in the field without a single hand injury, and an overall satisfaction rating of 4.32 on a 5.0 scale. With the approval of the steering committee, ORR Safety began delivering the Kong Original Impact Protection Hand gloves product line in October 2008.
